John Rochman

John Rochman is a Consultant in our Commercial Real Estate team and has a vast wealth of experience in relation to commercial and residential property transactions.

John deals with all types of commercial and residential property transactions having acted for a broad range of corporate and private clients in relation to their business affairs and private interests over many years.

A large number of John’s clients are international who benefit from advice offered with regard to both acquisitions and disposals of property based in the UK. He also continues to be involved in the continued management and development of properties, both commercial and residential, once acquired and assembled.

John has extensive knowledge of aspects of commercial contracts and issues relating to businesses as well as relating to art galleries, institutions, dealers and individuals. He has advised on a number of high-profile matters over many years. These have related to issues of ownership, provenance, negotiating contracts for specific art transactions, terms and conditions and related business matters, as well as advice relating to restitution concerning Holocaust art and advising various trade association bodies including the British Antique Dealers Association. He also provides assistance to a number of charities.

For many years John has also advised the Independent Doctor's Federation (IDF), the largest UK organisation representing private independent doctors.

John is a member of the New York Bar Association, the Commercial Law League of America, Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars and STEP.

John was also a non-executive director and, for nearly nine years, Chair of the UK arm of one of the largest insurance companies - quoted on the German Stock Exchange and throughout this period and, prior, a member of Lloyd's of London.  John also holds a number of other non-executive directorships.
